Teachers and support staff

Girl with glassesChildren and young people with Down's syndrome Define Down's syndrome  should be encouraged to reach their full potential.

Teachers and support staff play a vital role in working with children and young people with Down's syndrome and their families. Whether you are based in pre-school, primary, secondary or further education or a related profession, we can provide you with information, resources and support.

Down's Syndrome Scotland has produced a variety of materials and resources to support staff working in schools and other educational settings. These are useful for teachers working in both mainstream and special education. You can download these from our publications section.

You may have pupils with a brother or sister with Down's syndrome. We have booklets especially for children and teenagers.

We have staff who specialise in education.
