About Down's syndrome

People with Down's syndrome are just like everyone else.
They have the same rights: the right to vote, marry, work, health care and housing. They also have the same hopes for their lives. With the right kind of support, these can be realised. Some people need a great deal of help. Others need very little.
Like all of us, people with Down's syndrome need support, respect and the right to take decisions for themselves. Often the greatest disability they face is other people's attitudes.
A person with Down's syndrome has the right to be treated with dignity and respect.
