As part of the Being Human Festival, Edinburgh Napier University has partnered with Family Advice Information Resource (FAIR) to co-curate an inspiring exhibition that shines a light on Scotland’s learning disability heritage.
Together, the team is co-curating Franki Raffles’ We Can Take Pictures — an exhibition that explores the archive’s relevance to learning disability education, identity, ability, and pride.
“As a mum of a beautiful daughter who happens to have Down’s syndrome, the motivation for this project starts with her,” said the Public Engagement Lead, Kirstie Jamieson. “But this is about how we celebrate, how we teach, and what learning disability archives can teach us.”
The exhibition invites visitors to reflect on stories of inclusion, creativity, and representation, offering a space to celebrate the achievements and experiences of people with learning disabilities.
📅 Join us on 15th November to be part of this meaningful event — and please feel free to share and spread the word.
