On Sunday 18th January some of our talented members from Choir 21 were super excited to venture into Green Door recording studio in Glasgow’s west end with Ken McCluskey from the Bluebells to record a version of the band’s number one hit single, Young at Heart. The choir members all recorded their versions, sprinkling stardust as they went, dancing, Makaton signing and singing alongside Ken. They were a joy to record with, and you will hear the finished version when it is released on March 21st, World Down’s Syndrome Day! (maybe mention why 21st March each year?)
A big thank to Choir 21 patrons, the Bluebells and especially to Ken for his ongoing encouragement of the choir and to Douglas for guitar and guidance! Thanks to Samuel Joseph Smith at Green Door Recording Studio for making the whole experience so welcoming and stress-free and to Les Hoggan for photos and video! We couldn’t achieve any of this without everyone’s combined efforts. Look out for the single being released on WDSD on Last Night from Glasgow!
