Module 5: Meeting the Health, Support  and Communication Needs of Adults with Down's syndrome

This module is specifically designed for Personal Assistants supporting individuals with Down’s syndrome, whether you are based in a care setting or providing support directly within an individual’s home.

Learning Objectives By the end of this session, you will have:

  1. Increased your understanding about Down’s syndrome, busting common myths
  2. Learnt about associated characteristics, health issues, and the unique learning profile of individuals with Down’s syndrome
  3. Explored how to effectively communicate with and support individuals with Down’s syndrome
  4. Gained an insight into the lived experience of an adult with Down’s syndrome

Time: 10:00am – 11:00am

Format: Live, interactive session via Microsoft Teams

Cost: £45.00 per person
