Dr Kubba has been a consultant in children’s ENT in Glasgow since 2003 and is an Honorary Associate Professor in Child Health at Glasgow University. Alongside Karen Hunter, he has been running the pre-school hearing surveillance clinic for children with Down’s Syndrome since 2004. They will be talking about hearing issues in children with Down’s Syndrome.

Karen is Professor of Ageing, Frailty and Dementia at the University of Stirling. Drawing on her experience as a former Chief Executive of Down’s Syndrome Scotland where she first worked alongside people with Down’s syndrome, Karen will talk about dementia and ageing in adults with Down’s syndrome.

Dr Matta is a Neonatologist with a special interest in neurodisability and infant mental health. She will talk about the her paper with the same title, which she authored for Greater Glasgow & Clyde. We are currently co-developing this to be introduced as the national standard Care Pathway in Scotland.

Dr Herrieven is a Consultant in Paediatric Emergency Medicine. She will join us to talk about the presentations of serious acute illness in children with Down’s syndrome.
