Leave a gift in your will

How to leave a legacy

By remembering Down’s Syndrome Scotland through a legacy in your will, you are making a unique commitment to a cause that makes a real difference to people with Down’s syndrome, their families and carers throughout Scotland.

By leaving a gift in your will to Down’s Syndrome Scotland, you can also support us on our journey towards financial independence and enable us to provide more of the much needed support to people with Down’s Syndrome throughout Scotland, their families and their carers.

As a small and committed team, we rely on the generosity of our supporters. Without you, the extent of our work would simply not be possible. And we always want to do more.

Whatever the amount, your contribution will make a valuable difference to people with Down’s syndrome and their families and carers throughout Scotland.

If you are an Executor administering the estate of someone who has remembered MSF UK in their will please contact our Supporter Care team for advice on how to pay the gift in will.

If you have already made a will, you can leave a gift to Down’s Syndrome Scotland by making a simple addition to your existing will. This is called a codicil and can be arranged with a solicitor.

Please contact us if you would like more information about amending your will.

If you have not already made a will, and would like to leave a gift to Down’s Syndrome Scotland, we advise you to see a solicitor to help you draw up your will.

Although you will have to pay a fee, you will receive professional advice and can be sure that your wishes will be carried out.

Your solicitor will need to know our address and registered charity number:

  • Down’s Syndrome Scotland, SCVO
    Edward House
    199 Sauchiehall St
    Glasgow
    G2 3EX
  • Down’s Syndrome Scotland is a Charitable Company Limited by Guarantee | Registered in Scotland No. 356717 Scottish Charity No. SC011012
  • We will endeavour to spend your money where you most wish it to be spent.
  • We will respect your right to privacy. You don’t have to tell us how much you have decided to leave to Down’s Syndrome Scotland.
  • We will use your gift wisely and effectively.
